The Bellmawr Fire Department has been a Class 4 Fire Department since 1999. As the Fire Chief for the Bellmawr Fire Department, I’m pleased to inform you that as a result of our recent evaluation by ISO, the Bellmawr Fire Department will receive the designation of an ISO Class 3 Fire Department.

As one of the most active volunteer organizations in Camden County, Bellmawr Fire Department has over 50 active members and a fleet of 12 apparatus. Established in 1898, between Fire and EMS we respond to over 4,000 emergency calls per year.

In 2019 our average response time (arrival of the first unit from the time of dispatch) was 7 minutes 31 seconds, for 100% of the calls. (It should be noted that in 2015 our arrival time was 10 mins.)

Emergency Management

The Office of Emergency Management is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive emergency program for the Borough of Bellmawr. This plan addresses disaster mitigation, planning and preparedness, response to, and recovery from large scale emergencies and disasters that may affect our local area. The intent of this program is to minimize the impact of disasters, provide necessary disaster operations, and to enable effective disaster recovery.
